4 Assignments

Sunday, April 29th, 2012

1. i created my first one about a assignment where you did a day in the life of your feet in 3-4 photos and then arrange them in a way that tell a story about your day.

2.  your third eye – For this assignment collect a few photos from the perspective of your phone, allow us to see what the phone sees..something that we would not normally notice.

3.  a word..a picture..a story – Chose up to 5-10 words..just randomly pick them don’t over think it just chose these words out of the blue. Then do a Google image search on these images and chose one of the first visible photos for the word..after you have chosen your words and your images put them together in video form and tell a story..include a sentence with each image to help guide your story or try and tell it without the sentences.

4.  Annoying Sounds – Record a sound that you find to be absolute annoying and then edit it and make it a sound that is less annoying or better yet one that is not annoying at all.

One Story / Four Icons [remixed]

Sunday, April 15th, 2012

For this assignment  reduce a movie, story, or event into its basic elements, then take those visuals and reduce them further to simple icons, four of them. Write your blog post up but do not give away the answer, let people guess! The challenge is to find the icons that suggest the story, but do not make it so easy, Remixed: Put on your elbow patches, strike a dramatic pose, and give an assignment an over the top critique as delivered by an art snob.

At the beginning of this post i included the link for the four icon story that i am going to critique. The assignment was submitted by OFWGKTA_Jordan.

I want to start off by saying how could you go wrong with a rage comic..they always make any topic funny. Also seeing that something is a rage comic makes the chances of people wanting to look at it or read it so much more greater. The message portrayed by your four selected images was well thought out and the story was clear and straight forward, and truthfully accurate. I would of liked the images to have been just a little bigger, but the way they were lined out side by side in the form of a comic strip was a good touch…it really illustrated the cause of effect of each stage portrayed by each image. Well done!!

Love: In Three Frames [remixed]

Sunday, April 15th, 2012

For this assignment use three photos to tell the story of a relationship. You can use “real” photos that you’ve taken in a relationship. Or search for Creative Commons images on Flickr and find a story to tell with what you discover. You can find a bunch of examples at Slate today and to remix it Add a sound of country music to an assignment, or alternatively, change the storyline to include a dog that is died, a partner that has left, a truck that no longer works, etc.

I chose to use the photos submitted for this assignment by yungwun315, the story already involved the lost of a loved one and consisted of a tragic ending which already met the standards for it to be titled “countrified” so i decided to select a few more images from a google search on failed relationships and turned them into a video slide show and added the song Busted by the isley brothers, which is not a country song, but it fit the photos well.

Over-Dramatic Reading [remixed]

Sunday, April 15th, 2012

This is a remix of the reading of Kittens, Kittens, Kittens submitted by Ben Rimes and read by his wife. The original assignment was to Choose any written material (a song, poem, short book, excerpt from a novel, scene from a television show, news article, etc.) and record a dramatic reading. Read your selection in a way that alters the message of the original material (at an odd pace, overly excited, sad, etc. — be creative, make it your own). Make sure you mention what it is you are reading, and who the author of the material is. and then the remix part of the assignment was to Take an assignment and alter it very slightly. Make one small change or multiple changes. Just make sure they aren’t too obvious. Think about those “side-by-side photos in magazines, can you spot the 10 differences between the two?” type deal. Think about letting your audience know how many changes there are so they can look for them all. You’d be amazed at what people notice and what they subconsciously choose to overlook!

I decided to upload the audio file to audacity and add an echo effect, it was just subtle enough as to not take away from the reader and the emphasis she placed on the story during her dramatic reading.

Video Assignments_star count

Monday, April 9th, 2012

I completed a total of 28/30 stars for the three weeks total of video work. The videos are listed on my blog so in this post i will just give a brief over view of the assignments that i did.

I did the film essay in which i did i best to give you my personal insight on one of my favorite films, Curly Sue.

I did the 30 second documentary in which i outlined the steps that i take to draw a flower.

I did the make a tutorial for your mom, that one was my first and my worst but hey everyone has to start somewhere.

I did the movie trailer mash-up and that was most definitely my favorite to do and the one i am most proud of.

I did the movies that changed our lives and i picked three of my most favorite cartoons and lastly i did the opening credit redux where i just altered the opening credits to married with children by depicting it as happy families when in reality the show constantly depicted how miserable they were at times lol.

Those were all the assignments that i completed!

Opening Credit Redux

Monday, April 2nd, 2012

I chose to do the opening credits for the show married with children, i love this show! They are not the most conventional family and so i thought a way that would make it funny is if i inserted some photos of families that were happy and laughing together, and then at the end it goes back to them and how really unhappy he is with his life and family. Enjoy !!

Movies That Changed My Life

Monday, April 2nd, 2012

I am a huge fan of cartoons and the three i chose for this video were Bambi, The Lion King, and Toy Story 3. I chose these three because no matter how many times i watch them i either tear up or bawl like a big baby.

When i first saw Bambi i made my dad come with me in the woods to find him and make sure he was okay…it was an impossible task but dad had a friend help him stage the event to calm my nerves ha! When i first watched the lion king i was just filled with so much rage for Simba’s uncle scar and felt sad for the lost of mufasa, so my dad brought me a chihuahua and named him mufasa and told me that his spirit went into the dog. And for toy story 3 i was just so appalled at the fact that we could of had to say good bye to our beloved toys lol.

Movie Trailer Mashup

Monday, April 2nd, 2012

For this Assignment i decided to use parts of the trailer from the movie orphan and change the audio with a song from the hit Broadway musical and movie Annie! I wanted the parts of the trailer to give Annie a darker image…Annie a smart bubbly red head vs the dark and scary Esther. I think it some parts i managed to get the audio to match up to the scene pretty well…i can honestly say i tried my hardest and that in the process i learned how to do a lot more with windows live movie maker on my own. *high-five* for me.

Make a Tutorial for you mom

Sunday, March 25th, 2012

This assignment was my first attempt at doing the editing and stuff and i was having difficulties with my laptop and the only way i could figure out to do this was to hold my camera at my computer while i did the video. So it’s blurry and you can’t really see what is going on but i tried my best to make it better, but you have to start from somewhere!

30 Second Documentary

Sunday, March 25th, 2012

For this assignment i decided to do my documentary on the process of me drawing a flower. I am not the best at it but i thought it would be good to show others how to draw it step by step.
